Hi friends! I hope this post find you and your family in good health and spirits as the world deals with the Covid-19 Pandemic. We are in the seventh week of no school and social distancing here in Alberta and I know that some of you have been in this situation for even longer than that. Near the beginning of the pandemic I was trying to create content as quickly as I could, but realized it wasn’t sustainable. I took a bit of a break around Easter, and while we were working on some home projects (painting baseboards!) I put a kink in my neck/upper back that knocked me out of commission for over a week. But I’m happy to be back in my scrap-space to putter around and create some new ideas for you!
Today I’ve got the April 1-2-3 Sketch and Layout for you – just before the month is officially over! If you haven’t seen my 1-2-3 Sketches and Layouts before, they are a great way to get photos onto pages and into albums FAST! You only need ONE piece of double-sided patterned paper, TWO pieces of Cardstock (or Album Pages) for the base of your layout, and we’ll make the entire layout with only THREE cuts! This month the sketch features fun geometric patterns that LOOK detailed and complex, but are super easy to create with the 1-2-3 formula. There is room for SIX photos – two 4″ x 6″, three 6″ x 4″ and one 4″ x 4″ – and you can probably add one or two more photos onto the layout if need to. Here is the sketch…
…and the fun thing is that this month I feature TWO ways to arrange the cut shapes on your page for double the fun! You’ll be able to get the link to a FREE handout with the sketch, cutting guide, instructions and sample layout at the end of this post, but first watch the video to see how easy it is to cut the patterned paper and put both layouts together! Grab a coffee and enjoy!
Here’s a closer look at my finished layout and a couple more detail photos:
I know that the Picture This! collection* will be so useful for so many different layouts – and I have to say I love all the blues, aquas and greens! But, no matter what papers you plan on using with this sketch I know you’ll have fun with all the dynamic geometric shapes!
And if you love sketches, consider registering for my year-long online course – SYS20/20 (Scrap-Your-Stash 2020) – where you’ll get sketches galore each month along with challenges and lots of inspiration to use up that stash of scrapbook supplies! Registration is ongoing throughout 2020.
